Let the waters rise,
May they be cold and swift.

Last night I shot a prom in the Middle-of-Nowhere, VA. It took place on a county fairgrounds where I suppose they judge cattle for various things. It was a bit antiquated for my tastes, and almost like stepping back in time, to where this sort of thing happened because everyone lived on farms and they didn’t have TV so they would go to The County Fairgrounds to have a good time. The only thing that kept me in the present was the fact that everything on the grounds was modern. It was an odd experience. I guess I’m too much of a city girl.
THIS IS MY LIFE.
Today was bittersweet. When I woke up today, I thought to myself that the best thing to listen to today while driving around for work was Beastie Boys. They were the only thing that I wanted to listen to today. Blasting loud, windows down, making everyone around me hate this small blonde girl, wearing a dress and high heels, playing Beastie Boys.
And then I found out about MCA, and the only thing that was playing on the radio (Alt Nation on sirius.xm) was Beastie boys. So while it was nice to have my soundtrack fulfilled, it was bittersweet, as the only reason it happened was in remembrance of MCA.

I can’t do this anymore.
It only comes in waves,
And then it goes away
